It’s an amazing boat for a beginner who wants something to grow into, and can be paddled by advanced kayakers, but there are other boats out there that will offer higher performance for individuals who are already past the beginner stages of their paddling. It doesn’t paddle as aggressively as something like a 9r2 or a phantom, and doesn’t go as fast either. The Pyranha Scorch X is a unique blend of length and agility. I paddled a small code recently on some class 3-4 on the middle white salmon, and it was a ton of fun! As dagger’s replacement for the mamba, it’s still meant to be a beginner friendly boat, but is designed so that it doesn’t have the same limitations that the mamba has.
